when i hook my 83 vencher up to my carb synk tool i get this

is this indickative of a problem our am i doing sumthing roung

it the synk tool seams to work ok on the v max

Then adjust the low cylinders (by turning the screws for them ccw) until they go up and match the higher ones. Then raise the idle speed back up and do it again.

The idle speed screw sets the #2 carb throttle plate....so if the right 2 cylinders on your synch tool are carrying the load the idle speed screw has been backed off trying to reduce idle speed.

As Frank says...as you adjust the right bank the engine will slow down, so you have to screw in the idle speed screw opening the #2 plate and its vacuum should start dropping.

Just to say it another way

 

On the left side of the bike there is an idle speed screw that syncs carb #1 with carb #2.

 

On the right side of the bike there are two idle speed screws, one of them syncs carb #3 with carb #4 and the other screw syncs the left side (#s 1 and 2) with the right side (#s 3 and 4).
