At around 11:00 this morning, my brother-in-law, Dr. Jack Salomon passed on from complications of a stroke following cardiac aorta surgery. We are leaving tomorrow afternoon for Southfield MI for the funeral on Tuesday. It is a reform Jewish service which has a 3 day mourning period following the funeral and burial, but we will be leaving Wednesday as we have a minor crisis with our refrigerator to deal with.

Jack had a stroke following his surgery last November and was in a nursing home showing signs of improvement but suffered a second stroke a little over a week ago. In a sense his passing was a blessing as he would never have been normal and the family has been grieving all this time. They had already been through the loss of one of their sons many years ago to a rare disease.

If you are moved by this death the family only wants people to make a contribution to your favorite charity in his name.

Our condolences to the whole family. Bob, Becky, if you need a break while in town you're always welcome to stop on by. There's a sailor here who'd like to meet you.
