JerryK Posted June 6, 2014 #1 Posted June 6, 2014 I had the fairing and light bar off then when I put it back together the left signals are both working but flashing fast? Even with flasher on the are faster on the left side?
M61A1MECH Posted June 6, 2014 #3 Posted June 6, 2014 This sounds goofy, but here is what happened to me once. Had a turn signal circuit flashing fast like one of the bulbs was burnt out, but all bulbs were lit and flashing. Swappped the front bulbs left to right the problem followed the bulb. Replaced the suspect bulb and everything was fine. The turn signal filament on that bulb was broken and some how the run filament was flashing in it's place, the resistance on the two filaments is different so that affected the rate of flash, so check your bulbs, could be taking the stuff off jarred the bulb enough to make the filament break.
JerryK Posted June 6, 2014 Author #4 Posted June 6, 2014 I'll try that but I have had this happen before after reassembly and after a day or so it went back to normal. Just doesn't make sense but I have problems understanding electrical things sometimes!
djh3 Posted June 6, 2014 #5 Posted June 6, 2014 Thanks Steve I did have that happen on my Vulcan. I was working on the front with installing a fairing. When I got ready to check things out it did similar thing. I guess the OEM bulbs dont have very tuff filaments in them.
