GolfVenture Posted May 28, 2014 #1 Posted May 28, 2014 I'm needing some suggestions of a box to ship the right side cover of an MKII. To those that have shipped one, do you know where to get a good box or did you make a box?
Flyinfool Posted May 28, 2014 #2 Posted May 28, 2014 When it is going to end up being a big light weight box like a side cover would be. I always make my own box. With large items you are not paying for the weight, you are paying for the size of the box. This will help to keep the cost of shipping down. A smaller bax will also need less packing material to fill it up, again reducing cost. Do not make your box out of flimsy cardboard like most Chinese stuff comes in, any shipping service will destroy it. I get my cardboard out of the paper recycling pile at work, You could go to any place that sells and delivers appliances and get one of those old boxes. They are usually made of good sturdy cardboard.
GolfVenture Posted May 28, 2014 Author #3 Posted May 28, 2014 Thanks Jeff, I'll see if i can locate some of that appliance cardboard box.
Carbon_One Posted May 28, 2014 #4 Posted May 28, 2014 Jeff's suggestion of using the appliance cardboard is a good one. I used to use that stuff myself till my source dried up. Now I buy 4x8 sheets at a commercial cardboard supplier and just make all of my boxes. Larry
