CB Error

I don't know if this might help anyone else who might have the CB:ERR message or not. Mine did this on the weekend. I couldn't control the volume, change the channel or turn it off.

The only thing that had happened recently was that the passenger PTT button had broken and fell off. I think it got hit by a riding boot but I can't prove it. The CB was still working even after I noticed the button was missing. I used some pliers to remove what was left of the threaded brass stud but didn't get around to replacing the button until today. After pushing the button in and out a few times the CB error went away and it seems to be working normally again. I can't explain why this worked but it did.

Kind of reminds me of when Dad use to wack the top of the TV and it would start to work.

I had that happen once before. I think I pulled the fuse to kill the power for the radio/cb. Then did a power up re-boot type thing. Give it a try. Otherwise, like the old tube tv's use tinfoil on the antenna. Might work as we'll??

Guess the whack on the side of the radio and the tinfoil on the antenna worked! Actually I found the radio would reset to clear the Err code on the screen.

Tin foil on the antenna? I thought you were supposed to put the tin foil in the helmet.

Tin foil is used for BBQing isn't it ???

Tinfoil is easier to shape to your head then the colander that I use. You have to be very careful whenever you are outdoors. The NSA monitors everything now even your thoughts!
