Ever since I bought my 06 RSV , I have been wanting to be able to integrate my cell phone within the IC , only for the fact that if my wife needs to get a hold of me she can . All other phone calls will be ignored , unless it is an emergency . Now I have a ZUMO , which has Bluetooth , all I have to do is connect the ZUMO to the IC .

I call Kennedy to ask what all I needed to hook everything together . I ordered all but one item which was the Zumo Device harness . All this cord is a harness made up of three sets of cables , the OEM power harness (which is already supplied with Zumo ) , a stereo 3.5 mm audio cable , and a 2.5 mm mono mic cable on which I thought was an outrageous price of $95.00 . I have a freind whom is an electronics serviceman whom made up the stereo 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm mono mic for me for $10.00 . I hooked everything up as per instructions told me to do and went over and over several time to make sure prior to setting current through the system .

At first , I received the scoots radio though the headsets .Then I turned on the Zumo and set to AUX to hear the MP3 player on which was a No Go . The audio out was wired through the cellset and splitter to 5 pin as instructed . They also sent me another audio in for Radar detector or anything with audio alert , so I ran a 3.5 mm from Zumo to 3.5 mm to that connection , still a No Go . So that left me to hook up direct to the Aux input on the cassette . Then I heard the MP3 , GPS nav voice and cell phone (audio only ) , but no one could hear me on the phone when I made a test call through the mic in .

Being the Kennedy cellset didn't do all that I was told it would do , I stripped it all off and started all over again . When hooked up the way the instructions say , double/triple checked , I should have the Aux input on cassette and the extra Audio alert connections left open . I should be able to communicate with the cellphone and GPS nav voice when ever . All other devices will be heard when in AUX such as XM , MP3 , Tour Guides , FM Traffic and such .

I'm not ranting on Kennedy yet , as I just received the item Friday , hooked up last light and played with today .They are closed on weekends and will be closed due to Christmas at beginning of this week . I would like to know if anyone else has done this before I have to pull the fairing off again .

I think you might want to check out the fact that the cell set and GPS prompts, Intercom and CB are in MONO only . Thats why you don't get the stereo output of the MP3 and Satellite radio through the CB 5 pin hook up.

I believe Garmin goofed when they integrated the Mono outputs in line with the stereo outputs on the Zumo. They are trying to blend different technologies. It appears as the Zumo's Bluetooth is a replacement of the FM Modulator but the bluetooth is intended to talk with bluetooth devices only.

The wiring harness from Kennedy tec. works fine when you have separate devices such as GPS, MP3 Player, radar detector or Cell phone with proprietary connections for each device. The problem is the Zumo is a multi function (mono/stereo) device with one output.

I may be blowing hot air up your exhaust but its my take on the problem.

Good luck and let me know how you get it worked out for I too am interested in the cell phone hook up

I have not problem with stereo sound , nor the mono , that's piped in with excellent qaulity from the Zumo directly into the MC Aux . I should have clarified a little more . Lets say where Kennedy claims where I am to connect Audio into the Cellset and Mic into the Cellset or into the Cellset aux port , they do not work at all . None of the connection points within the Cellset work . Only thing that works is the Harness , Intercom , FPD type 2 on which I refered to earlier as the 5 pin splitter , at which I seperated the 5 pin connection in the fairing to connect that too . It was the 5 pin cable that had the red taped band on it . I even tried placing this splitter on driver and on passenger connection while testing .

I'm coming to the conclusion after sleeping on it that is either the Cellset either is defective , or there's more to the Zumo Device harness on which I did not get to power up the cellset (They supplied the schematics on there website) , or my buddy made up the 3.5 & 2.5 mm cables may be wrong , but I seriously do not beleive they are , as I tested them elsewhere and they work . Oh by the way , the Cellset part I have is the "Cellset , MC/GPS AUX/MIC" if youlook it upon their site http://www.cellset.com .

It's probably something simple , on which I am overlooking , but I have gone over the entire bike and Cellset instructions .

Today sometime , I'm going over to another freind whom has a radar detector with aux out . I'm going to hook up his radar detector to the cellset's extra aux in . If no alerts during test phrase at startup or when we run the scoot in front of his patrol car (he's LEO) , then something must be wrong with the cellset . I also have a 2.5 mm mic from my computer on which I will by pass the cellset directly to the mic in on the ZUMO , and if that works , again something must be wrong with the cellset .

The Bluetooth within the ZUMO just connects the cellphone , Bluetooth headset or both and then patches it into a wired function to be relayed into the IC . .

Well I went over to LEO friend and ran a test . Still a no go on the Ceelset hook ups . We ran a 2.5 mm mic directly into ZUMO , made a call and was able to speak . Audio on cell was piped into HS , but only when IC was set on Aux .

My LEO friend has a HD , wired up with cell , CD , CB , Ipod , and radar detector with products through Kennedy . He doesn't have a GPS .......Yet !

I guess I will have to contact Kennedy after Christmas to find out what's wrong .

I just read this entire thread and now have a pounding headache! :hihi: Which is why this is under my Christmas tree. :D

Bluetooth phone and intercom functions in one. Simple and effective. I let the radio/MP3 stuff come through the regular speakers. :)

Those are nice , but what I have read about these , deletes the CB , radio , XM , Radar , MP3 through the MC IC . If only I wanted cellphone , these would be the choice . Rider to passenger , only if you et the Teamset from what I understand .
