KIC Posted May 22, 2014 #1 Posted May 22, 2014 Anybody know if stock pipes off of an 89 1st Gen would fit on a 2009 RSV ?
GAWildKat Posted May 22, 2014 #2 Posted May 22, 2014 Don't do it! It wouldn't be right! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
KIC Posted May 22, 2014 Author #3 Posted May 22, 2014 I know...making a 2nd Gen that fast with 1st Gen pipes might upset the gravitational pull and the earth's rotation, but this is a temporary emergency fix for a cross country rider.
dingy Posted May 22, 2014 #4 Posted May 22, 2014 They are completely different pipes, 1st gen to 2nd gen. Not a chance of making anything work other than mufflers, maybe. Gary
KIC Posted May 22, 2014 Author #5 Posted May 22, 2014 That is what he is looking for is just the back muffler part. Do you think that would bolt on ?
dingy Posted May 22, 2014 #6 Posted May 22, 2014 That is what he is looking for is just the back muffler part. Do you think that would bolt on ? That I do not know, mufflers were a blind stab at what might work, rest is no chance. Didn't get the stock exhaust when I got my RSV Hybrid parts collection. Gary
Pegasus1300 Posted May 22, 2014 #7 Posted May 22, 2014 go find him a cheap set of Harley Road King or Ultra take offs. Because the 1st gen mufflers have a pretty good bend in them they are not likely to work. The Harley's will.
bongobobny Posted May 22, 2014 #8 Posted May 22, 2014 Hey, with the right adapters and McGuivering you can make anything fit everything...
Kirby Posted May 22, 2014 #9 Posted May 22, 2014 You can't put 1 Gen mufflers on a 2nd Gen. If you do, other things will start falling off and it'll be in the garage more than on the road.
