I snapped my tci board the other day when trying to remove it. I will be trying to repair the board but when I was looking at it the area between the two inner heat sinks is very dark brown. I see there are resistors but is it supposed to be that dark? Also does anyone have the info to rework the tci. I'm fairly confident that I can do it with the right info. Thank you

Hey Arron. Welcome to the site. Repairing and reconditioning TCIs is a touchy business even more so with a cracked or broken board. I did some minor solder repairs several years ago on one and it held up well until the day it gave up the ghost.

Buying a used one can be a gamble too. Never know what you might get.

We used to have a member Herr than did reconditioning work but that was several years back.

The hot ticket these days is a complete unit with an install kit to replace the old TCI with modern technology complete with software and interface capabilities to patch to a laptop for personal adjustments.

Our member "Dingy" can provide you with what you need and offers support for the unit as well. For a Tad over $200.00 you can bypass all the grief and headaches of trying to make an obsolete item work like new.

Search here "Ignitech"(?) Or tci upgrade to find more info or PM Dingy about them.

I just installed one of his units a couple months ago. Absolutely a perfect fix to and old and common problem.

From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.
