Time for second gear repair

My opinion is that I would reuse the screws and re-stake them.

Questions about when I get ready to poke this power plant back into Big Red

 

1. Is it best to poke the engine in with the rear exhaust installed, collector on or off? I couldn't get it off when I removed the engine so I yanked the engine out with the chamber still on.

 

2 What about grease/lube on the driveshaft yokes?

A little too late to help...but the middle gear bearing retainer screws have a new part number.

Some sites must not be fully updating so the old part shows not available but they don't show superceded.

90149-08013-00 (replaces 90149-08152-00) was found on a few sites.
