SpencerPJ Posted May 6, 2014 #1 Posted May 6, 2014 I went to get bike out 1st time, I heard fuel pump click maybe 10 times, bike did not start, low battery charge. Charged battery, now I don't have any fuel pump clicks. I've taken both hoses off, released pressure. I've checked the blue and black wires, I get voltage when I turn key on. Could it be fuel pump gone bad?

Could it be fuel pump gone bad? If the carb bowls are full pump may come up to pressure on first cycle. Good way to tell is to open a drain screw on one carb and drain the bowl, that will assure that the pump needs to run some. Drain screw is just above intake mount on carb, one on each carb. All you need to do is loosen it about a turn and it will drain out the rubber hose on each carb that is below crossbar at bottom of carb rack. Snug screw back up and turn key on, it should click. MiCarl Posted May 6, 2014 #3 Posted May 6, 2014 If you have the pressure unloaded it should tick. If you've disconnected the inlet too so it's got no fuel to pump it should be quite noisy.
SpencerPJ Posted May 7, 2014 Author #4 Posted May 7, 2014 Got bike to start and took for ride. No idea why, turned key typical 1-2 clicks.
