Barrycuda Posted May 5, 2014 #1 Posted May 5, 2014 (edited) Ok... Some of you may have remembered some 6-8 months ago, I was close to busting a Goldwing and trading in the RSV. At that time, and with some opinions and insights from those I am comfortable with on the site, and my beautiful wife, I elected to not buy. I did not regret the decision, as the RSV took me through many states, showed me towns and places I never knew! successfully handled the tail of the dragon!Vogel! but most and more importantly, meeting the best group of people bar none. And I'm not just saying that. I feel so honored to be part of this group, you have no idea. I would have never thought I would be surrounded with so much love, companionship and friendship from strangers, just because of a venture... My New York brother, Sunn, who will be at the IR with me was bitten last year with the MC bug. He has been eyeballing the nomad, the voyager and the venture. With some issues with people and bikes, he said no to the nomad. The voyager, I steered him away because of the legendary engine heat issues they fail to fix. So....it's the venture. And he and I are looking long and hard, mid nights, white, black, RSTD, etc. has me riding all over the state looking... I noticed a GW, from online that piqued my interest. Original owner, older gentleman who has owned 7 before his current one. One thing leads to another and.... I am a GW owner!!!! Sunn, who has been hinting about buying my bike, if I wanted. I made it easier, because he paid less than what I would sell to a stranger, but still a nice amount. This allowed me to get a pristine 2008, GW ABS edition with 28000, for a steal. Because of some personal hoopla with in laws and Mother's Day, I get my wing, in about 10 days. I have to see if the wing is for me. If it is not, I will sell and head back to venture or for something else. I have to figure it out through experience... So now both he and I have to learn our new bikes. Because he still lives in NY for now, the RSV will still remain with me and I still get to ride her around. I am sure once he gets settled he will be a VR member. He is coming back in June for 3 weeks to take her out and to learn. I have the ride like a pro book and cones, so we will both be working at getting better. Just know that I WANT very much to remain a VR member bc of the people first and foremost. I am a very loyal guy to people who look out for me and shown genuine interest and compassion. That's all of YOU!! Many thanks for helping me with my RSV and my bike will be in excellent hands as far as caring and maintaining her, otherwise I would not sell her to just anyone. He was warned about the top heavy and necessary proper techniques needed to handle her. I tried to get him on something else but he was going to buy a venture anyway, whether I agreed or not. he has to see if the RSV is for him like I do with the wing.... Another chapter and another journey, but I won't do it without you folks....if you don't mind:fingers-crossed-emo Edited May 5, 2014 by Barrycuda

cowpuc Posted May 6, 2014 #8 Posted May 6, 2014 Hmmmm,,,, let me think about this for a second,,,, this is really difficult,, so much of the love we share for each other around here is linked directly to what kind of bike we ride:rotf:,, ummmmm,, I guess it really depends on a couple of things Barry,,,, first of all it depends on what color it is and second of all how much bling it has on it:confused24:...
