In the USA, suppose a car bumps the bike, the bike flips over and knocks the old guy down, he gets a concussion, brain damage, and the family will sue the biker.

 

Lawyers (for the cage drivers and the pedestrian) claim the cage drivers cant see the old man (bike in the way), the bike stops too soon, crosswise, no brake lights now visible, and the car stopped short of actually hitting the pedestrian.

 

Biker at fault.

 

Oooops.

 

Lawyers rule the world.

Yeah, the system may suck....loaded with lies, greed, injustice and hypocrisy, but, if you're a person of integrity and character, sometimes you have to be better than the system and put yourself at risk to help make the world a better place in spite of the system.
