did valve cover need spark boots

so I got the valve cover gasket changed and rebuilt the clutch slave on my old bike. Well i tried to teach the boy child how to do it but i just had to get my hands greasy. LOL

 

So during the process I see that the oil leaking into the head pockets has really caused one of the spark boots to deteriorate.

 

Can the boots be replaced or are the once piece with the wire and coil assembly?

Oddly enough, that is one part I have never had to replace. Per Bike Bandit parts fiche, the plug wire and cap appear to be an assembly that can be purchased separately from the coils.

A new plug boot can be bought, but not the wire its part of the coil, You are talking 2nd gen?

Someone either here or over on Delphi recently posted the part number from NGK for those boots with a picture, Now I wish I had copied and pasted the info some place.

I think those are 5k ohm, 2nd gen uses 10k ohm here is a part number Plug Cap Assy
