Question is for those running a CT, Are you running A Rear on the front and in what rotation?

I have a Rear on my Roadstar Front with a CT and running it both ways changing up every 5K miles or whenever I have the front off. I get better wear and it was discussed on the Darkside forum.

I have a RearCT for the Venture and kind of thinking of running a Rear Michelin Commander on the front with it. I hear they wear great.

I can attest the commander II wears great..

I have not put a CT on the venture since it is a recent acquisition.

I do have one ready for it, just waiting for the current tire to wear out.

I run the Commander II on my Voyager XII with a CT on the rear and so far have gotten 32k and still going strong, one of the keys to long front tire longevity is tire pressure, I run the commander between 40 and 42lbs

once these tires wear out on the venture, I will be running a commander II in the front and a Nankang in the rear..

I have now done close to 100k on a CT, and riding this bike with the MC tire just reminds me why I like CT's so much, exspecially in the rain..

LOL Well, You are in same boat as me. Having an MC tire ruined my last trip last year. I ran into a few extra days vacation and the rear tire was at the point they always seem to be, Good for local riding but dont dare take it on a trip tread!

So I thought I was going to run out and buy a CT NOT! Had to order it. Trip canceled.

SO, CT is like yours Waiting, while I wear the rear all the way down.

BUT I ran into another problem. I bought some parts off a Member and it included a Rear rim and almost new Rear tire! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Now I have to wear that one out! (2 month deal for me)

But now my Front, which would last anyone else two rears, it at the same point as the rear, and I just bought it THIS rear tire! (Too many Curvy roads, thats what I like!)

I thought I would get tons of info. Glad Someone gave me some feedback. Well. if you think about it post back what you do. I think I will maybe study up the DS database a bit and go with the commander on the front since I wore this one out so fast.

Im 7K miles from changing to the CT AGAIN! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Its SO unsafe having a bike tire on the rear, ESPECIALLY when You've put 50K on a CT on your other bike. :)

I understand trying to get the most out of each tire, but I will be pulling the MC tire off regardless of the life left in it before I roll out for rolling thunder..I won't make a trip over 500 miles with an MC tire on my bike..

What are you going to run for a CT ?

I forget what I got for a car tire, its out in the shop, something that was suppose to be from Wal Mart but I had to order it from the net. Been had it since last year and forgot it.

I bought the leftovers from a trike and it came with a brand new rear Metz and rim so I am running that out. BLUGH! Hate that but hate to waste rubber too.

New problem. I am about to put a new Front tire on so I may as well put a rear on the front to match my TO BE DS on the rear right? So I bought the Michelin Commander 2 Rear 130 90 for the front and in another thread somone posted that that tire is not made for our bikes and CS told someone else to take it off ASAP. If you go to the Michelin web site and use their tire calculator and enter out bike info it says.

We make over 3000 MC tires but, none for your bike.

So, this tire is a radial and our bikes are designed to run Bias, so I wonder if it is a rim issue.

And the tire will peel off the rim on the Tail Of The Dragon going like 60.

This is starting to get expensive.

No one is really jumping in with what works perfect. But anyone running the Commanders on a Venture ought to beware I guess. I am still wondering the WHY.
