I sent a message to them for info, they were kind of evasive. They said they could not give up all the secrets on this device, but assured me I would love it. Bolt on application? Bolts to what? Any feedback from fellow members would be appreciated. Thanks Ross
pegscraper Posted March 8, 2008 #2 Posted March 8, 2008 Buy this one instead. It's from a well known company, and it's cheaper too. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_ID=42&Category_ID=5&manufacturer_ID=223&product_ID=6421&sblid_name=Electrical_Connection_Turn_Signal_Conversion_Kit__for_Yamaha_Royal_Star_Venture_
AKRefugee Posted March 8, 2008 #3 Posted March 8, 2008 60 bucks WOW. Mine cost less than 35 bucks. Got the Ultra LED Light Bar from here http://www.customdynamics.com/Light_bars.htm#Ultra_LED_Light_Bars_ Then went to Home Cheapo and got two L brackets 2x2 and a can of black spray paint, Painted the brackets and then used the bolt for the helmet locks to hold it under the trunk. Little bit of split wire loom from Auto Zone to cover the wires and off you go. See this kind of stuff all the time on EBay. Don't fall for it.
BuddyRich Posted March 8, 2008 #4 Posted March 8, 2008 The secrets ...... Yea, Right This is the light. http://signaldynamics.com/products/LightBars/15ultra.asp
Guest 05RSMVTEXAN Posted March 8, 2008 #5 Posted March 8, 2008 Yes I purchased one for my 05RSMV. It was very easy to mount. There are two rubber boots on either end of the trunk underneath. It attaches to those. I love mine. When you are driving 3 lights are lit. When you put on the brakes they all come on. And I didn't have to cut wires either. I pulled mine apart at the connector, wrapped the wire around and plugged them back together. If you want maybe I can send you some pics if you like.
1BigDog Posted March 8, 2008 #6 Posted March 8, 2008 I mounted the old Pilot 18" light bar under the trunk. Added the diodes and resistors per instructions found on this site and now have running and brake lights all in one unit for less than 30.00.
Guest Saddletramp Posted March 8, 2008 #7 Posted March 8, 2008 Take a look at Diamond R's taillight and tell me if it isn't the same or close to it. Very easy installation also.
Kregerdoodle Posted March 8, 2008 #8 Posted March 8, 2008 This is the one to go with!!! Put it on my `01 looks great and lights up the world!!! The secrets ...... Yea, Right This is the light. http://signaldynamics.com/products/LightBars/15ultra.asp
wuzfuzz Posted March 9, 2008 #9 Posted March 9, 2008 http://www.closertowholesale.com I bought a pair of them for $32.99 at the above supplier who sells them on eBay. As stated, if you look at the rear of the helmet holders under the rubber cover, you will see a hole....... both sides have one. The lights I bought fit perfectly to these holes. All I had to do was bolt them on and connect the wiring............ one for ground, one for the running light and one for the brakelight. I bought the clear lens with red LED's, but they also sell red lens with red LED's. They are a good source for all your LED requirements. Here's a photo of my 3rd brakelight.............. ken.jo@shaw.ca
