Anyone tell me how much torque to use to seat new intake boots on a 2nd gen?

If you are referring to the socket head cap screws it would be 7.2 ft/lbs.

The 2 short screws go on the left front outboard & right rear outboard. Use a good RTV sealant on these 2 screws as they are drilled into oil pocket and an irritating leak point.

Thanks - yes the socket head cap screws. Appreciate the info on the short screws and the oil pocket. I was beginning to think that cracks had formed in the heads causing the leak into the thread.

Hi Gary. I have a question about the intake boots. 2ng gen..Just picked up "mm #188" and while replacing all the boots, stripped out rh O/B bolt hole. Do you have any more info about that location..?"Newbie" Art

If it's looks like you could get a long drill down in there to put a helicoil in with. The tap drill to put a 6mm helicoil in is 1/4", closest American drill. This is an easy drill to find in an extended length. The helicoil uses 7mm tap to prepare for coil.

As far as the tap drill for the existing holes being drilled through into oil pocket, this was knowledge of 1st gens, I don't know if the 2nd gens have same issue.
