Zollars3265 Posted April 29, 2014 #1 Posted April 29, 2014 Anyone in the Pittsburgh area able to help me put my leveling links on? I have the tools and jack and stuff, but cant seem to get it to lift the rear of the bike.
Mike G in SC Posted April 29, 2014 #2 Posted April 29, 2014 I have seen people secure the front tire (maybe in a tire chock in a trailer) and then use a small floor jack to lift under the engine/frame. Guaranteed to bring the rear up.
cowpuc Posted April 30, 2014 #3 Posted April 30, 2014 Just be careful,, these suckers are heavy and brother,, when they start to go they usually finish the job..
rickardracing Posted April 30, 2014 #4 Posted April 30, 2014 Lift the bike in the center. hopefully you are using a motorcycle/atv jack. You will probably have to take the muffler off the side where the bolt comes through. I do believe it hits the pipe/muffler before it comes completely out. One the bike is lifted, place boards under the rear wheel and drop the jack until the tire touches the board. This keeps the tire from dropping when you take the bolts out of the links and releaves the pressure on the links making it a bit easier. Remove the bolts and replace the links.
