RandyR Posted April 29, 2014 #1 Posted April 29, 2014 Red wine has long been hailed for its potential health benefits, from slowing aging to inhibiting cancer, due to a plant compound called resveratrol. Scientists even think resveratrol may have the potential to fight fat. “Resveratrol should be a very effective anti-obesity agent. It causes your mitochondria, your cells’ fat burners, to burn faster,” said Clifton Baile, head of UGA's Obesity Initiative. But battling fat with resveratrol would likely take thousands of glasses of wine per day.

stickhandle2 Posted April 29, 2014 #5 Posted April 29, 2014 Any chance that Resveratrol is found in bourbon too.

Huggy Posted April 30, 2014 #11 Posted April 30, 2014 I just read a study on this not to long ago and it said you can get the same benefits from drinking grape juice. YA but not as much fun!!!!!!!
SilvrT Posted April 30, 2014 #12 Posted April 30, 2014 I just read a study on this not to long ago and it said you can get the same benefits from drinking grape juice. Isn't wine made from grapes? So if we're drinking wine, aren't we drinking grape juice?
saddlebum Posted April 30, 2014 #13 Posted April 30, 2014 A tablespoon a day of pure virgin grape seed oil is supposed to have the same benefits but W/O the nasty side effects. ... .......BRING ON THE WINE
