Big Auggie Posted April 29, 2014 #1 Posted April 29, 2014 Decided to go with an Interstate closed cell battery. My last Interstate lasted 6 years and it wasn't a sealed one. My question is: I'm going to put in a resistor so I don't get the battery warning and a constant red light. I read the article Freebird posted like in '06 but the picture quality of the resistor package isn't good enough for me to tell if they are 1/4 or 1/2 watt resistors. Can someone clear that up for me? Thanks to all for the great advice I've gotten from this site. Big Auggie
Prairiehammer Posted April 29, 2014 #2 Posted April 29, 2014 It matters little what the wattage rating of the resistor is; the current draw is minimal, so virtually any readily available wattage resistor is appropriate. It is the resistance value that is important. Historically, 2.2K (2200) ohm has been the recommendation, although there is at least one electrical expert who maintains that one should use closer to 20K ohm for optimum protection of the CMS.
