syscrusher Posted April 29, 2014 #26 Posted April 29, 2014 How about a 1955 Jaguar XK-140 convertible? Paid $700 for it, then traded it for a 1955 Mercury Montclair. If I still had the Jag it would sell for nearly 100 grand. I could buy several new Ventures for that! My one that got away was that I could have bought an XK140 in 1979 for a mechanics lien of $900. I was in college and money was tight and Jags weren't known for reliability so I passed on it..... My GF's old boyfriend from high school had a POS 1961 Corvette that didn't run well and was unreliable. She helped his parents talk him into trading for a fake woodie K-car wagon that they largely paid for...... If I could have had some of the cars my father had.
bongobobny Posted April 29, 2014 #27 Posted April 29, 2014 Missed a chance with a '56 T Bird with the big engine and optional hardtop for $300 in '64 because I couldn't afford it...
Dragonslayer Posted April 29, 2014 #28 Posted April 29, 2014 I had an 87 Corvette I had to sell one time to catch up on some house payments when I was in-between jobs. Does that count?

You betcha,, if it was a 4 speed it counts double!! If it was retuned so it could breath (cammed and carbed) it counts triple!!!
