515Rod Posted April 24, 2014 #1 Posted April 24, 2014 Does anyone have the formula for Dull Blue Cocktail? Or where I could get it. Have been to color-rite's website and it's not listed. Any Idea's? Thanks.
djh3 Posted April 24, 2014 #2 Posted April 24, 2014 Does this help? How about this. Dang this Google thing is wonderful.
515Rod Posted April 24, 2014 Author #3 Posted April 24, 2014 Thanks, I have the code but it not listed in color-rite. What I'm looking for is the lighter blue on the 89 or 90.
Flyinfool Posted April 24, 2014 #4 Posted April 24, 2014 Most likely the correct color will not match your old paint. I took a part into the paint store and they custom mixed a pint to match what the bike is now, after fading for 26 years.
515Rod Posted April 24, 2014 Author #5 Posted April 24, 2014 Thanks Jeff, I wanted to match it as close as I can. It has some nice pinstripes and the part that I need to paint doesn't have any. Maybe I'll paint everything and change the color.
Prairiehammer Posted April 24, 2014 #6 Posted April 24, 2014 Does anyone have the formula for Dull Blue Cocktail? Or where I could get it. Have been to color-rite's website and it's not listed. Any Idea's? Thanks. Currently Color Rite does not have your desired color listed on their site, however, their color code for Dull Blue Cocktail was 5410L. Color Rite produced it at one time, but apparently is not currently produced. I suspect that given enough demand (and money) they have the capability of making another batch of 5410L. But, Jeff's comment is actually your most satisfactory choice anyway. The paint on your 25 year old motorcycle has aged and undoubtedly faded, so that even if you were to find Dull Blue Cocktail, the paint probably wouldn't match what you have.
515Rod Posted April 24, 2014 Author #7 Posted April 24, 2014 Thanks all, I'll take a part and get it matched. Was just hoping for an easy fix to my problem.
