Winddancer Posted April 26, 2014 #6 Posted April 26, 2014 Not wanting to hijack this thread, but instead of starting the exact same thread of my own, I will say that I too am looking for a set, and once Zollars3265 request has been filled, I will be here awaiting any offers.. Thank you.. Chuck
vzuden Posted April 26, 2014 #7 Posted April 26, 2014 Check VR Tech/suspension - there are instructions to make them and install. Did that a few years ago and worked out great

Really, I don't see them listed on his items for sale... I did see he had a few left over at one point, and he was selling them off at 1/2, but those are long gone..
ACE50 Posted May 30, 2014 #10 Posted May 30, 2014 Just an FYI. Installing the links (raising the rear 1") raises your motor oil window by a 1/4. If you keep it at 3/4, now it will be at the top.
djh3 Posted May 30, 2014 #11 Posted May 30, 2014 I lowered the forks in the triple tree. Same effect, less $$$
darthandy Posted May 30, 2014 #12 Posted May 30, 2014 I lowered the forks in the triple tree. Same effect, less $$$ That's not entirely correct. The effect on handling will be the same but you lose some ground clearance whereas using levelling links will gain you a bit more clearance. It may not be much but doing the Dragon last September without my links, I could really have used the extra bit of clearance - especially on the one right hander about halfway down! Andy

Andy If your inseam challenged, raising a high seated bike just makes it worse. I took mine off and pushed the forks up higher in the trees. Never had a clearance issue yet. Bike handles in my opinion way better than with the links.
ACE50 Posted May 30, 2014 #14 Posted May 30, 2014 Without the rear links I was always hitting the floorboards and then crash bars. Hardly ever now with the links. Lowering the fork tubes would make it worse for clearance. Luckly I'm 6'3".

I have touched the floorboards down on occasion so I really wanted the extra clearance. I belong to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and some of the guys in our chapter ride their 1800's like sport bikes. Of course, their bikes have stiff frames, good suspension and a surprising amount of ground clearance, so staying caught up can be a bit of a challenge at times. The levelling links really helped me there. Andy
