I need to have the kickstand cut shorter. Is there a way to remove it without removing the shift linkage and the left side muffler?

Anyone ever remove their kickstand to get it cut?

I can't see a way to remove the bolt without removing the linkage and no way to remove the linkage without removing the front part of the exhaust pipe.

I had the Barons lowering kit installed and the bike has very little lean to it on it's kickstand. Cutting and inch or so would seem to be the solution.

I just took off the side-stand on my bike. Didn't take off the exhaust or shift linkage. just cut through the bolt with a cit off wheel. BUT Don't do that if you want to put the stand back on. No way can you get that bolt out without removing those parts. I cut it off as I don't need a sidestand anymore. Trikes don't require one ya know.:whistling:

I would be interested in how much you cut off and if you can weld it back without blowing the chrome off. I have lowered the front end of mine and am thinking about putting the barons kit on the back. The origional Royal Star kick stand is about 3" shorter than the RSV.

'matter of fact both of us are going to want to order your jackstand adapter thingy and the bracket for the horn after we get back from our Lake Havasu Rodeo trip this weekend.

We got his kickstand back. It looks ok. He had them cut it just above the foot and 3/4inch away from the loop. They used a special welding technique (forgot the technical term) to insure the weld wasn't any weaker than the rest of the piece. A little emery cloth work and you won't hardly be able to tell.

Well if you planning on ordering a lift adapter then I can send that sidestand in the same box. It'll save on shipping then

Ok, one lift adapter, one stand, one horn bracket and throw in that kickstand. How do I make this happen?
