So I'm in the grocery store late yesterday afternoon, picking out a tomato to make BLT's. I'm standing in front of the bin checking them out when a hand reaches out in front of me and grabs the tomato I was reaching for. I couldn't believe someone would just reach out in front of me and do that, so I turned to look and here's this older lady. I just stare at her and then she says HI. I turned away and grabbed my second choice and just left her standing there. I couldn't believe how rude that was.

But wait there's more.

It must have been about ten minutes later I was wheeling my cart out to where I parked my bike and I see this same old lady finishing putting her groceries away in the SUV I was parked next to. I got about 25 feet away when I saw her wheel her now empty cart right next to my cycle and leave it there. I couldn't believe it.:sign cmon:

I got close enough as she was walking around the front of her SUV and I yelled to her that the cart corral was just a few feet away. She just turned and looked at me blankly. I was a little perturbed at that point and tempted to push her cart back behind her big SUV. A man walking to the store said he'd take the cart and did so, leaving me to fill my trunk with my bags, while the lady continued to look at me. Maybe I was cranky today because my wife made me do yard work instead of being able to ride my bike, but I mean really!! She looked at me as though she had no idea what the problem was. Well I finished loading and then wheeled my cart 2 stalls over to the corral.

I'm sure everyone here has had this happen at one time or another where someone abandons a cart right next to their vehicle when the corral is just a stall or two away. I just couldn't believe it was :grandma: in this case. And here I thought common courtesy was something everyone over 40 understood and practiced.

I was waiting for a punch line to this story, thinking that it must be a joke. Wow, what a rude lady, or perhaps confused. The shopping cart thing reminded me of something that happened to me several years ago. One of my pet peeves is how people in mall and grocery store parking lots think they can park wherever they want, so they won't be inconvenienced, but it's ok to inconvenience others. Well, after getting groceries and loading up our car, I went to put the cart back in the corral, only to find that some Butt Hole decided to park his car right in front of it, making it impossible to access it. I pushed my cart up to his driver side door and was going to leave it there, but then thought that was just too easy for this guy to just push it away and hop in. I then decided he needed to be inconvenienced himself, so I flipped the cart upside down and pushed it up to his door, hopefully making him realize that his conduct had been noticed and not appreciated. I know that two wrongs don't make a right, but it sure felt good.

Reminds me of the large lady that knocked me off my crutches pushing me out of the way to get handi-cap buggy at Wally World. I caught up with her in the store later and asked very loudly "When did Fat,Ugly and Stupid become a Handicap??"
