'99 RSV engine in a '96 RS need help

I have a 96 RS that had a hole in the piston and was able to come across an engine out of a '99 RSV. I was told that this engine would fit with no problems. The more I look into this, I am seeing some differences. Carbs for one and possibly some wiring differences.

Is there an engine swap thread? I used the search function but could not find what I was looking for. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I do not recall seeing such a discussion here on Venture Rider, but over on the Delphi forums there is a fellow named Tanker Hank that has done it twice I think.

tankerhank is also a member here too.he done his about 8 or 9 yrs ago. ther are some different but he has worked most of it out. he had a wrck a few yrs back anf totaled it and now has a black cherry venture, which he has done several things to it. he took the lower off and got all that stuff hidden .he's been riding these v-4s since 84.
