CMCOFFEY Posted April 19, 2014 #1 Posted April 19, 2014 I found a hose(believe it to be the crank case breather) it is leaking ON my bike. Question is, does this hook up to the airbox or should it be draining else where. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/F75843D0-8045-448D-ABDC-60A9F15CB603.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/C3E86EFB-EB86-45C6-A280-38947AAC6728.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/7C4D3A2A-F18D-4BFD-9A82-022AE91D34F3.jpg
CMCOFFEY Posted April 19, 2014 Author #2 Posted April 19, 2014 Dang just realized I posted in watering hole and not tech section. I guess lazy and absent minded would be a better description for tonight.
djh3 Posted April 19, 2014 #3 Posted April 19, 2014 The front of the air box there has a bracket. The hose goes kind of behind it and drips the goo down the leg fairing. Nice aint it?
CMCOFFEY Posted April 19, 2014 Author #4 Posted April 19, 2014 Down that square hole? That is what I feared. Now I have something else to pull apart and clean periodically.
Brake Pad Posted April 19, 2014 #5 Posted April 19, 2014 it will also, leak when you have to much fuel in the tank, like an over flow line.
djh3 Posted April 19, 2014 #6 Posted April 19, 2014 I can tell you what we use to do on "burp" or vent hoses on race cars that were like that. They almost always pushed stuff out and then you had a mess. Take a piece of cloth say 4"x4" and double it over. Then wrap around the hose and zip tie it. The cloth will capture most fluids if pushed out instead of them dripping down. Also in the routing of the hose, make sure there is a low spot somewhere before the outlet. If there is collection of any kind of fluid hopefully it would be there.
