hell yea Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 my fest gen venture decided to take a leak on the drive today lol its never dun that before was leaking out of the elbow on the water pump so i wiggled it a bit and then run the bike no more leak should i be concerned ? has anyone else had this happen ?
bongobobny Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Yup!! Don't forget to grease the new o rings with waterproof grease or water pump lubricant (same thing). Just a very thin coating...
Money Venture Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Just curious, mine was dropped in a parking lot by the PO. There is a dent in the elbow but no leaking. Should I be concerned? Or just replace it when I am in there next?
Peder_y2k Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 REPLACE IT! They are only some $30 new, and easier to replace now when everything apart rather than later. Also replace the T-stat housing for the same reason. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
bongobobny Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Ditto!! Hey Peder, where are you finding them for $30 new?? Parts Shark?
Prairiehammer Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Ditto!! Hey Peder, where are you finding them for $30 new?? Parts Shark? Boats.net has the elbow for $33.98 here: http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-26H-12446-00-00.html But the O-rings are 'not available' from them.
Peder_y2k Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Ditto!! Hey Peder, where are you finding them for $30 new?? Parts Shark? Working from MEMORY of repair work a couple years ago, I often use Partzilla or Boats.net, but may have found new old stock parts on e-bay. Despite others experience, I've used Partzilla for several years for all my bikes with zero problems, including order cancellations. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
paysaw Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Yes,Just replace it.It wont stop either. It will be your annoying little friend.
