muaymendez1 Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I just find it funny that bike manufacturers give you a locking gas cap . Like what gas thief would really siphon fuel when he can just disconnect the fuel line to petcock abd hood the hose in a gas can. One further. Why would they choose a bike with a capacity of 5gollons and not a work van that can possibly be have 25 gallons. Just saying, If I saw someone trying to take fuel from my bike. I would probably laugh first.

muaymendez1 Posted April 18, 2014 Author Posted April 18, 2014 Hmmm. Didn't think of it. I guess water, brake fluid, or anything foreign for that matter. So it's not anti theft, more if a safety device
Peder_y2k Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Keep the bad nasty fumes from escaping? Without a lock, those fumes could undo the cap and dissappear. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
uncledj Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 or turning your bike into a 2-wheel Molotov cocktail... Hey....in the movie Wild Hogs, John Travolta cut the gas lines on all the bikes and it had the same effect.
brd7666 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Heck, it would only take five minutes to steal the whole tank.
JohnT Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Heck, it would only take five minutes to steal the whole tank. There is that, eh?
Rick Haywood Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 There is that, eh? Only takes 1 minute to steal the whole bike:confused24:
muaymendez1 Posted April 19, 2014 Author Posted April 19, 2014 Only takes 1 minute to steal the whole bike:confused24: Actually. . I have a huge pad lock on it with keyptonite chains, The Club, an alarm system, 2 pit bulls, a davids star with a lock of hair above it, a sign that says please have mercy and the keys to my wife's car beside it.
