cachris Posted April 16, 2014 #1 Posted April 16, 2014 Flashers not working Anybody got an idea why my indicator lights in the front would light up, but not in the rear. Both the front and the back are not flashing. Checked the wires in the rear and I'm not getting power to either side in the rear. I'm getting power to both wires going to the flasher. Thanks Chris
bkuhr Posted April 16, 2014 #3 Posted April 16, 2014 It would help to know what model/year bike we are talking about, but my first thought would be a issue with the hazard switch, possibly unplugged or defective contacts.
muaymendez1 Posted April 16, 2014 #4 Posted April 16, 2014 Same happened to me other day. Check the hazard switch. For me it was simple. Turn the hazards on and off which solved the issue until I can take it apart and clean the contacts
muaymendez1 Posted April 16, 2014 #5 Posted April 16, 2014 Check to see that there is voltage to the flasher. Normally a bad flasher would keep the light on steady.. The flasher opens the circuit as a safety so if you lose the flasher the light doesn't just stop lighting.
Neil86 Posted April 16, 2014 #6 Posted April 16, 2014 (edited) Chris... as mentioned....the Hazard switch (just to right of key area) needs to be in OFF position as power feeds through that switch to prevent trying to use hazard and turn signals same time. The lights on front are running lights/turn signals...so 2 filaments...and will be lit with key on. The rear are turn signal only. Edited April 16, 2014 by Neil86
utadventure Posted April 16, 2014 #7 Posted April 16, 2014 If I recall correctly the flashers have their own fuse in the secondary fuse panel that is tucked back in behind the battery. Dave
cachris Posted April 16, 2014 Author #8 Posted April 16, 2014 thanks everybody I found the 4 Way switch all flashers work when the 4 Way switch is on. the left turn indicators work correctly. however neither the front or the back right indicator will flash. Sent from my SCH-R910 using Tapatalk 2
cachris Posted April 16, 2014 Author #9 Posted April 16, 2014 thinking the switch may be sticking and not a lot on the right side turn on. Sent from my SCH-R910 using Tapatalk 2
cachris Posted April 16, 2014 Author #10 Posted April 16, 2014 think I found the problem I have a green wire that's not soldered to the switchhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/17/9e8e3usu.jpg Sent from my SCH-R910 using Tapatalk 2
