Eck Posted April 16, 2014 Author Share #7 Posted April 16, 2014 Hey Eck, did you ever wash your keys with the remote on the hoop? I did... Nope, not yet Bob, but I have washed my cell phone a couple times....You should try it.... Not going fishing, cleaning my sock drawer (funny), or going for a ride today. Eck, be sure to replace the tubes as well. I had a tube failure around the stem in the middle of Montana. Glad I carried a spare tube. Dennis, Thanks for the advice. I will be carrying a new tube and one of the old tires for a spare.. I just got the shocks installed, but I am not going to change the tires (yet)... still a few miles on them, so I will be using it for some short trips until tread gets down a little more. Just have to get my moneys worth...ha It looks like (guessing) I could go another 1 to 2 on the old tires yet. Will be keeping an eye on them as I use the trailer. Hope your and Valerie are both enjoying your retirement... Konnie and I sure am..
Midrsv Posted April 16, 2014 Share #8 Posted April 16, 2014 Eck, what I found on my tubes were that the tire was in great shape but there is a washer under the rim at the base of the valve stem and that washer had rusted. The rust was abrasive and wore a hole in the tube at the stem base. Yep, retirement is great. We're at our Florida place now. Dennis

I will look now for a couple replacement washers for the "just in case" and have them on hand in the trailer too. Thanks again for the info! I lubed up the suspension this morning while laying it on its side to change the shocks out. Wheel bearings seem to be fine so I am not replacing them but I do have a new set on hand just in case. Cant's say I am not enjoying the retirement, but man I am working harder since I have been home.. Raking the back yard is making me one sore individual. Fingers, hand, wrists, arms, shoulders, sides, back, legs... ouch, ouch ouch.. Just noticed today that a lot of settlement occurred since it rained here so much the last couple days. Now I have to wait for it to dry out so that I can rake some more..ha. I now have sod ready to go down, so that will be another work out. I'm just not loosing any pounds though..
