Sailor Posted April 14, 2014 #1 Posted April 14, 2014 Good article in today's Vancouver Province about red light runners. I agree with Rick ( Silver T) that it is too prevalent. I hate the speed trap photo cameras as they have nothing to do with reducing accidents and everything to do with grabbing cash. I do like intersection cameras as they can save lives if the people running the lights start getting tickets in the mail.
Flyinfool Posted April 14, 2014 #2 Posted April 14, 2014 The problem with the intersection cameras is that some cities shorten the yellow light to turn it into a cash machine. Those cameras give you the choice of nearly locking up the brakes and getting rear ended or getting a ticket at every intersection. You also will get a lot of tickets in the winter if you are driving at below posted speeds due to road or traffic conditions.
Sailor Posted April 14, 2014 Author #3 Posted April 14, 2014 We have a bit of a problem with the lights not being synced but as soon as someone complains they fix it. Here they use intersection cameras to determine fault in the event of an accident. I have never heard of anyone here getting a ticket for driving too slow. I wish they would start handing them out. It is frustrating to be stuck behind someone going half the speed limit and no chance to get past them.

It is also frustrating to be going the speed limit or higher and someone zooms by you doing a hundred acting like your the slowpoke. I can't figure out what everyone is in such a rush for.
