I already posted this as a response to one of my posts but thought id share with everyone.

2 weeks ago I completed maintenance on a new to me bike.

a 99 venture my buddy parked and let sit before he passed and left to me.

Valves,simple carb clean, etc.

I put everything together and kept to myself how the enture didn't compare at all to my previous Kawasaki concours, but that My buddys wishes may have nmeant for me to ride a bit more conservative.

I dealt with everything but hated the fuel milage at 29mpg. I decided to tear into the bike and replace the plugs and do a more thorough cleaning of the carbs including setting floats. Well I didn't get further than removing the dogbone motor mounts when I found plug on the right front cyl , just laying next to the plug.

Having a mechanics thumb and working on bikes for 10 years I didn't want to admit that I did such a foolish eginner mistake:confused24:

I decided to go ahead and pull the plugs anyway only to find that the iridium plugs look new.

I stopped there and put everything back together and resynched the carbs.

Someone just spanked this BI*** because she wants to fly now. WHOAAAA what power.

I smiled at the sky because I know my buddy is shaking his head with a smirk.:big-grin-emoticon:

I bet hes calling me an idiot, But I am estatic at how she rides now. Wife is scared to go out for a ride tomorrow. LOL

Yeah we never make mistakes like that down below the Mason/Dixon or at least we know to keep quiet....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::stirthepot:

That's cause we yankees don't care. Besides or fuel makes our bikes go faster.

Stick that in your tail pipes!
