I only did the one on the lower right side where the original horn was.

No complaints in 3 years. :whistling:

Isn't the purpose of a horn to be loud and obnoxious and generate complaints???:stickpoke:

hi,

I have a 2006 rstd and out a WILO horn on and kept the originals working as well.

Main A1 highway runs through our area with lots of semis and double B's so needed something that the truckies would hear.

Wired it through a relay. No problems so far.

Passengers don't notice unless told.

Cheers,

Can I just plug that wolo horn into the stock wires and it'll work? Or do I need to run a relay and all that junk.

You will need to add the relay, it draws too much power for the OEM setup.

I originally changed out the left front horn to a Stebel. Later I installed a Sick Speed after reading a thread on here. To get a Stebel up in the left leg fairing takes a bit of patience. I didnt want to mount it in behind the fairing as some had done, I figure why put a 138db horn inside something.

Nothing like resurrecting an old thread ... but ....

Where and how did you mount this... I like this a lot.

Thanks

I originally installed the extra air horn adjacent to the right pillion foot rest.

The top of the horn sat under the footrest,

A bracket was made so that existing bolts could be used for the horn.

The exhaust did not have to be moved.

I have since decided to turn the bike into t single seater so I didn't need rear footrests so I moved the horn so as to use the footrest bolt locations.

See pictures attached.

First three photos are with rear footrest in place, last one is with footrest removed.

Thanks!

So you made a bracket that went between the footrest mount and the frame? Is that right?

That looks like an excellent idea.

I only know of one horn on the RSTD's. RH side. I replaced my whimpy stock horn with a Wolo horn. Highly recommend using the chrome bracket and horn relay wiring harness that Carbon One here on this site sells. Easy 30 minute install!!!

Yes Larry's bracket puts it where the original was and comes with the relay and wiring etc.. nice work. Slowroll also makes one that puts it behind the passenger foot rests. Also very nice work..
