AKRefugee Posted April 10, 2014 #1 Posted April 10, 2014 The wife said she wanted to get rid of the old carpet and put in laminate. I told here I would love to but I need a good miter saw to do it right. She said I could get the saw if I would do the floor. Well off I went to the store (with no adult supervision) and made sure I got the right saw to do the job. I think it was a good trade don't you? jakester Posted April 10, 2014 #2 Posted April 10, 2014 Nice, I have a buddy that always says that you have to buy good tools, that way, If you go broke you have something worth selling. I like it. Bill

Motorcycle Mike Posted April 10, 2014 #5 Posted April 10, 2014 Hitachi makes one of the best sliding miter saws. Good job.

uncledj Posted April 10, 2014 #7 Posted April 10, 2014 Hey....I have that same saw. Love it. Maybe I better go out to the equipment shed and make sure it's still there. lol
Flyinfool Posted April 10, 2014 #8 Posted April 10, 2014 I use that excuse to go to the toy,,,,, I mean tool store all the time. Her Ford Exploder needed some work, I told her I only have Chevy tools, I will need to go and buy some Ford tools to be able to fix her car.
AKRefugee Posted April 10, 2014 Author #9 Posted April 10, 2014 Flyinfool that has got to be the best one I've ever heard. I would try that one but my wife has her A&P license so I'm pretty sure I couldn't slip it by her. Ride Happy Ride Safe

djh3 Posted April 11, 2014 #12 Posted April 11, 2014 I got rid of all my Chevy tools. Well I kept the persuader and the metric adjustable wrench. I need to quit working on my sons Volvo. I'm really growing to hate that car.
cowpuc Posted April 11, 2014 #13 Posted April 11, 2014 WOW,, thats a keeper AK!! Now thats what I call proper negotiations!!
bill in mn Posted April 11, 2014 #14 Posted April 11, 2014 Nice!! even though there is a handle on the top I carry miter / slider saws by the sides of the bed they can be fussy . I never waste an chance to add to the tool stable. Did a ceramic floor in our foyer and got my biscuit joiner to do that job.
KeithR Posted April 11, 2014 #15 Posted April 11, 2014 I've done a lot of laminate floors in my place....not sure how you will be able to do it without a band saw (laminate is hard on saw blades....may want to pick up a cheap blade) Keith
rbig1 Posted April 11, 2014 #16 Posted April 11, 2014 boy did you screw up. that saw can do most honey dew projects. cant get out of future projects now. lol good buy
Eddie Posted April 11, 2014 #17 Posted April 11, 2014 Nothing like a compound miter saw, can do most anything.
