Skid Posted April 29, 2014 Author #26 Posted April 29, 2014 Ok I ordered a set of "P" clamps, lets hope they get here soon.
jakester Posted April 29, 2014 #27 Posted April 29, 2014 I used the p clamps too. no issues. Got them at Lowes by the bolt bin hardware. Harley pipe fit right on and quiet as compared to the Samson turn outs I had. Good luck. Bill
Skid Posted May 8, 2014 Author #28 Posted May 8, 2014 I have purchased a set of these brackets. By his pic it appears he has cut the stock pipe a little to get the look I see in his photo. Is that correct, or does your look different? I still need to get a set of "p" clamps before mounting the pipes.
eusa1 Posted May 8, 2014 #29 Posted May 8, 2014 in that circle is a set of big twin clamps to hide the connection. the stock pipes have clamps that do not remove from the mufflers. btw I do have a set or 2 of stock pipes if anyone is still looking to quiet their machine. reply to my e-mail address highlighted in blue at the bottom of the post.
StarFan Posted May 8, 2014 #30 Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) I just bought a set of Vance and Hines Monster Ovals for my Red Baron - a 2000 Venture. Been listening to some sound clips and looking at videos at various mufflers and have to say that I really like this deep rumble. Not loud but really deep - sounds like a small block V8. Can´t wait for getting them to Iceland and put them on my bike. But then of cause the sound and loudness is just a matter of taste and longings. Edited May 8, 2014 by StarFan Spelling error

So there is another short pipe to remove?? And this will eliminate the gap with these clamps? I have the clamps already, Just need to get the rear connection hardware to complete my switch. I am about to go louder...
cecdoo Posted May 9, 2014 #32 Posted May 9, 2014 No short pipe to remove, just pull the stock pipes off, you my have to wiggle and twist them alittle. The HD pipes will slide rite on, I put alittle lube on the ends it helped. No need to cut the pipes at all. The clamps you pictured can be found on ebay I think they hide the connection best, but any clamps will work. Craig
eusa1 Posted May 9, 2014 #33 Posted May 9, 2014 true, no other clamps that I have found will hide the connection as well as the big twin clamps
Skid Posted May 9, 2014 Author #34 Posted May 9, 2014 I got the clamp from the pic, but it leaves a two inch gap of uncovered pipe from the clamp the the heat shield at just behind the "y" pipe. Not the clean look in the pic. Can some one show me their connection using the HD Roadkings?
