Dano Posted March 27, 2014 #26 Posted March 27, 2014 Same here. I know I got more head slaps on the 1st Gen than I have on the 2nd Gen.... Maybe that's just because it's what they're built for, sport or cruise touring... ....
cowpuc Posted March 27, 2014 Author #27 Posted March 27, 2014 Is it about right now that I should mention about how all of you guys have fru fru wives that are too sensitive worrying about their comfy seats while they knit, read, sleep on the bike. We've trecked a buncha miles on our RSTD with my wife on back and she LOVES it! Never complaining, and God forbid she start worrying about whether she has enough pillow puffs on her seat like Venture riders have. RSTD WIVES RULE!!! Tougher n boot leather. Y'all do know I was joking, don't you??? BigLenny,, BigLenny,, BigLenny,,,,, ya shoulda just left it alone cause now I have to ask which part were ya joking about,,, careful how ya answer that cause having your wife riding allllll those miles sitting behind ya can be pretty conducive to female "get even syndrome" WOW you guys,, this has been an EXCELLENT read!!! There is NOTHING like reading real life, genuine, earned experience thoughts on stuff like this!! Long live VR!! Thanks Puc
BigLenny Posted March 27, 2014 #28 Posted March 27, 2014 BigLenny,, BigLenny,, BigLenny,,,,, ya shoulda just left it alone cause now I have to ask which part were ya joking about,,, careful how ya answer that cause having your wife riding allllll those miles sitting behind ya can be pretty conducive to female "get even syndrome" :rotc: Puc, What I was joking about was how the Venture wives were all fru fru with worrying about their pillow soft seats. LOL. I was just trying to do some good ole fashioned gigging. Now, the truth part is my wife really has ridden a buncha miles over a large portion of this country on the back of our RSTD, and she has loved every minute of it. HOWEVER, that is due in large part to me spending huge dough to put Ultimate Seats and backrests on our bike, AND I bought her some armrests that she absolutely loves. I am very aware that I should never put my girl on a Venture unless I'm dead set on buying one. Cause who knows what that could do to her comfort psychi. LOL.
billmac Posted March 27, 2014 #29 Posted March 27, 2014 Forgot to mention that I have Clearshield XXL windshield with a vent (tallest, widest one) and it's still not enough to protect my wife from the buffeting... could try a shorter wife ?
KIC Posted March 27, 2014 #30 Posted March 27, 2014 Y'all do know I was joking, don't you??? Does this mean we are canceling the vote to kick him off the Venture Island ?? I caught my fru fru wife cleaning her shotgun and googling directions to his residence... I just need to know if that road trip is on or not..
saddlebum Posted March 27, 2014 #31 Posted March 27, 2014 Other then an occasional Bee in the helmet, Robin loves the new pillow tops I installed on the 99. She seem to spend a lot of time sleeping back there....must be comfortable. The only reason she sleeps so well back there is because she dead tired and worn out from harassing all the male members when she is off the bike.
BigLenny Posted March 27, 2014 #32 Posted March 27, 2014 Does this mean we are canceling the vote to kick him off the Venture Island ?? I caught my fru fru wife cleaning her shotgun and googling directions to his residence... I just need to know if that road trip is on or not.. Noooooo! Please don't kick me off the island! This island is all I know. Please step awaaaay from the shotgun.
