sarges46 Posted March 5, 2008 #2 Posted March 5, 2008 I was almost sick!!! I saw that beauty lying there in the bed of a truck....like so much trash! What a way to treat a faithful steed!
Deltarat Posted March 5, 2008 #3 Posted March 5, 2008 I met this guy once, it was when I was still riding the 83, and had just joined this group. I saw his bike in the parking lot of my bank and told him about Venturerider.org he handed me his card for the pashinit website and said that this was his commuter bike and that he rode a busa during the summer. seemed like a nice guy, one of these day's when I can afford it I might even take one of his riding excursions, of course since I live here and know how to use a map, I might just make one of my own!
Mariner Fan Posted March 5, 2008 #4 Posted March 5, 2008 I really enjoyed the story. Looks like the guy got to experience something that I wanted to do in my youth.
Condor Posted March 5, 2008 #5 Posted March 5, 2008 I met Tim a few years back when he worked for H&R Block and had his Red VR up for sale. Nice guy, but what a mess the VR was in. Calipers off and zip tied to the front forks because they didn't work. Cracked plastic everywhere. And he rode it down from Placerville for me to look at. Needless to say we had a nice chat and he rode the bike home. He does take care of his Busa. The Alaska article he posted on the web was insturmental in getting me really involved in Ventures as it's a dream of mine to do the same trip.
loehring Posted March 5, 2008 #6 Posted March 5, 2008 I have to echo the feelings about the Venture. 2 years ago I was looking for my first bike in 17 years. I used to ride an '84 Wing exclusively before my first child was born but sold it doing "the Dad thing". I was looking for another Wing but couldn't find one at the price I wanted to pay. I didn't want to go over $5k because it had been so long and I didn't know I would get back into it like I have. I found an '89 VR with 26K for $4500 and the dealer threw in 2 helmets so I went with it. I'd never ridden a VR before but it seemed like a nice bike and the price was right for me. Well.... in just 2 years I now have 92k on her and I'm very pleased. It's rare that I ever drive my car anymore.

I THINK IF YOU LOOK AT HIS SITE SOME MORE YOU'LL FIND SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD HE FOUND IT AGAIN REBUILT AND ON THE ROAD....
Guest tx2sturgis Posted March 5, 2008 #8 Posted March 5, 2008 Ok...who stole my picture, that I stole? I'm guessin its a 'permission' thing? Dang...yall are picky.
Condor Posted March 5, 2008 #9 Posted March 5, 2008 I THINK IF YOU LOOK AT HIS SITE SOME MORE YOU'LL FIND SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD HE FOUND IT AGAIN REBUILT AND ON THE ROAD.... If memory serves me correctly the bike was dismantled by a Reno MC Boneyard and some of the parts ended up on Verminelli's Yellow VR up in Carson City. So it's serving a purpose and still lives on.... http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13694
