Yammer Dan Posted March 22, 2014 #1 Posted March 22, 2014 Reving the 2nd Gen a little in garage this evening and noticed tach wasn't working. After looking the needle had gone all the way round and came back up on wrong side of peg? I know I didn't rev it that hard!!! Any way to get it back to where it belongs??
Guest Bluestreak Posted March 24, 2014 #3 Posted March 24, 2014 Yammer, I didn't have a Baron's tach. I think it was a Drag Specialties on another bike and mine did the same. I just replaced tach for about $35 as I saw no way in without breaking case.
Freebird Posted March 24, 2014 #4 Posted March 24, 2014 I think that happened to that tac once before. It didn't actually go all the way around, it just slipped past the pin on the way down. I think I gently removed it and lifted it to the other side of the pin.
Freebird Posted March 24, 2014 #6 Posted March 24, 2014 I don't remember. I just remember doing it somehow. I THINK that bezel on the front screws off though.
Yammer Dan Posted March 24, 2014 Author #7 Posted March 24, 2014 Got it! It was tight and wasn't sure it screwed off. I put a little pressure on end of needle maybe it won't do it again. Thanks.
KIC Posted March 25, 2014 #8 Posted March 25, 2014 Just another 2nd Gen trying to produce enough power and revs to keep up with your 1st Gens...
Yammer Dan Posted March 25, 2014 Author #9 Posted March 25, 2014 I think being that close to "Brown Sugar" is hard on "Whats Its Names" nerves.
