Ace Posted March 30, 2014 #26 Posted March 30, 2014 That's a ton of stuff. I picked the bike up last summer and it had less than 6k on it and it's a 2000 so from all that have checked out on it , the bike is still new. I had the Star bar on my Vstar and loved it, how is it on this ? Seems as tho the bars would be outside the fairing and exposed to wind, which for me is not great, that's why I put the grips on as my hands get cold in 60* weather. Next is Vmax rear and Dyna, which I had ordered on Ebay but vendor had no stock but was still taking payment. On to another source for that now Don't know how the bars will be as the weather is just starting to break so I should be able to try it out within a week or so (I hope!!!!) I cant see wind being a problem, I think most of the wind will get deflect around the ends of the bars, if it doesn't, I'm not worried about it. My last venture I had bars above the fairing which wind didn't seem to bother too much. This bike I wanted wide bars, a big heavy motorcycle is a lot easier to manage with wide bars.

I'm looking for something different for bars since my right wrist cramps due to the awkward kink reaching the stock bars. You're one of the few who have something other than the flanders bar. Do you know what make/model bars you have? Either your current WIDE or previous TALL bars.

The bars from the Tour Deluxe are wider and have about 1 1/2 inch pull back. I put them on my 02 five years ago and love them. No more sore shoulders.

On my previous RSV I had the stock bars with the GenMar risers and then I turned them up some, they were the right height and reach but a little narrow and a goofy wrist angle. The bars I have now are the Baron StarBar. They are 36" wide but you have to use the 1 1/2" riser extensions with them. The angles are just right although they don't have much pullback so I landed up getting some 3" risers and making a 1/2" thick adapter plate to make the risers work, now the reach , angle and width are just perfect for me.
