Yammer Dan Posted March 21, 2014 Author #2 Posted March 21, 2014 I'm thinking of painting the End Caps black. Opinions?? I cleaned on them a little while sending prayers up for Skid. They have some rust on the back sides that is not going to come off but I'm thinking coat it good with rust converter?? It will not show when on bike. Now I'm wanting to hear them. Will clamps off stock pipes fit them??
cowpuc Posted March 21, 2014 #3 Posted March 21, 2014 NICE!!! Hats off to Grey Ghost!!! I am following ya Dan,, I think those Bubs would look outstanding with flat black end caps - really classy... Scrape off the rest of the chrome 1st and you might gain something in the HP/Weight ratio too,,, every little bit helps.... What the heck am I sayin,,, those are probably going on one of your many 1st Genners,,, and everyone knows you dont need any help pickin up the pace of those babys

bj66 Posted March 23, 2014 #8 Posted March 23, 2014 John Deere muffler paint. Comes in a rattle can. I have seen some rat bikes that were done with it. Looks like the HD "Denim" bikes.
Gary N. Posted March 23, 2014 #10 Posted March 23, 2014 Dan, you may be interested in replacing the tips. HD have many different ones available. Check this thread out for info on how I did my conversion. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11648&highlight=fishtail+tips
Skeeter Posted March 24, 2014 #11 Posted March 24, 2014 Yammer Dan, I bought a 99 RSV a couple years ago. The previous owner installed a set of Bubs. The chrome was flaking off the tips, like all Bubs do, so I sanded them down and painted them with high temp flat black. They look awesome and its the cheapest fix to the problem. I'll take a picture and post it if you're interested. Skeeter
Skid Posted March 24, 2014 #12 Posted March 24, 2014 Yammer, you have a set of HD RoadKings up here is you're looking for more noise. I'm not going to use.
KAWoodworth Posted March 24, 2014 #13 Posted March 24, 2014 Dan, I have the Bubs and I sanded and painted my tips with flat black header paint. I put three coats on them and they are holding up pretty well. I also like the looks. Almost like Rhineheart pipes.
Gray Ghost Posted March 25, 2014 #14 Posted March 25, 2014 Here are the Bubs Grey Ghost gave me!!! I think somebody intercepted the package and switched out the items. Those sure don't look like the pipes I sent you. Good Job!
Yammer Dan Posted March 25, 2014 Author #15 Posted March 25, 2014 Must have been that bouncing around knocked the dust off them... That Turtle Wax Chrome Cleaner is good stuff.
