Never heard of 'em.

Considering the problems you can have with new tires and tires such a safety item on a bike, I don't think I'd try one. Maybe my ignorance typing though.

I have been a member of the Retreads off and on for 30 years. We have a local chapter that is active in the area from Pittsburgh to Erie PA. They are headquartered in Cambridge Springs PA. You can catch a ride at least once a month with the group and a lot more often with individual members.

There is another club that caters to the more mature rider: the North American 40+ Touring Riders. My wife and I were members of the New York Chapter in the 80's.

I was just wondering if any members of this forum belonged to the Retreads and are going to the International Conference in Branson in May. I have planned a four day pictresq ride to get there, then some great riding in the Ozarks.

I was not aware of their convention In Branson. I am not a member, but I live in Branson. If any members here are coming to town, let me know if you want to meet up and go on a ride, some AWESOME places here to ride.

I was always going to join them when I turned 40 but then they kinds faded form sight and I forgot to join when I turned 40 and didn't think about it until a few years ago.By then I didn't care.

My wife and I joined a couple of months ago because we have some friends that recently joined. We have over 80 members in the Kawartha Chapter and it is very active, in soite of their octogenarian membership. You have to be 40 or over to join so that pretty much eliminate the squids on the crotch rockets. The convention is in Branson from Monday, May 5 to Thursday, May 8.

They have rides going every day but on Thursday we are heading down to Eureka Springs. Two years ago I wrote three stories about Arkansas for Motorcycle Mojo, the premier Canadian motorcycle mag. Going back to see a couple of people we met who own the Grand Central Hotel and have dinner and listen to Jerry Yester.
