Chris M Posted March 21, 2014 #1 Posted March 21, 2014 will stratoliner floating rotors bolt up to a royal star front wheel? if not are there any floating rotors that will? I love my royal star but really don't like the look of the front rotors and covers. Thanks, Chris
Squidley Posted March 21, 2014 #2 Posted March 21, 2014 Chris, There are quite a few of us that have taken the covers off the rotors. It gives the bike a completely different look. I have taken them off every 2nd gen I owned (3 of them so far) Pull the front rim off, take a torx bit and pull the bolts off. Remove the cover, put a little blue locktite on the threads and tighten them back up.... and for your original question, I'm not sure about the different rotors. I know some have put the chrome Stratoliner rim on the RSV, others will chime in.
Chris M Posted March 21, 2014 Author #3 Posted March 21, 2014 Squidly, got any pictures of the wheel without the covers? thanks,Chris
Cougar Posted March 21, 2014 #4 Posted March 21, 2014 Took mine off a few years ago and I just could not stand the squeal when braking. put them back on the it stopped. make note on what side the weights are on when removing. not all of them do it though.
craigatcsi Posted March 21, 2014 #5 Posted March 21, 2014 Squidly, got any pictures of the wheel without the covers? thanks,Chris I would like to see the pics also.
ACE50 Posted March 21, 2014 #6 Posted March 21, 2014 I did not have a any noise when I took my covers off. Later, The Stratoliner rotors should work as I put the RS rotors on the statoliner wheel with no problems.
Squidley Posted March 23, 2014 #7 Posted March 23, 2014 I'll work on getting you some pics when I get home tomorrow Chris
