This came through to me from a local forum I am on.... it sounds like a good idea, not unlike the SPOT unit that would send out an email.

Here is a link to an Android app called Cradar that can sense when you crash and if you don't move at least 8 feet in 30 to 120 seconds (whatever you set it for), it will send a text message to somebody. You can also set the sensitivity.

Don't know if it's useful, or if it works, but hey it's free. Would be worth trying out.

You can download it free from the Google Play Store.

Only problem I see is averting someone when a false accident were to happen like dripping the phone in the car. Ill give it a shot

I believe from the comments in the other forum there is an abort or cancil "button".

I don't know about where you live but here you get a $167 fine for having your phone in your hand when driving. Dont have to be talking or texting just holding it. More people are killed by texting and driving than drinking and driving.

What happens when you drunk dial while driving? :smile5:

Ive been using this one for couple of years. Works kind of the same but I have never had a false alarm, if you unplug it gives you time to cancel. And its free, I notice now for I phone too. Used to be just Android. Guardian angel or I think I phone calls it my guardian angel.

Just remember, it won't work unless you have a signal, so its out on the Tail of the Dragon.

I have went so far while Lone Wolf riding as to text someone what I am riding and that I will or should text them back at so and so a time unless something goes wrong.

When my husband rides without me I use life360 to track him. In an emergency he can use the app to contact me or EMS. We always let the roomie and friends know where we are going and travel time. Even the nonriders in our circle understand.

Yeah, our family is all on 360. More than once I have contacted them to say,,, Wrong way.

I just downloaded life360 and got my young adult daughters on it as well.

Both, independently and almost immediately wrote my saying "this app would have gotten us in a lot of trouble in high school.

Guess I can laugh about that now.

I like it. Riding iron butts solo I don't have to waste time "checking in".

Two thumb up.

I downloaded Cradar and have been trying it out and so far I can't get the sensitivity to set correctly, if i set it on Low it will not send an alert when dropped from 30" onto concrete, if I raise the setting to medium it goes off by just a mild shake of the phone. I've tried the custom settings with no improvement yet. I'll keep at it for another day or two before giving up. :confused24:
