buddy Posted March 17, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) Well most of you know I been having issues with my right knee for years Well it Turns out I damaged my left knee (the good one) to compinsate the other knee Did an MRI and found I had knee joint effusion with a small popliteal cyst along with a horizontal plane tear of the medial meniscus So now I'm waiting on when they will scope my knee so now I having issues with both knees One minute I walk like Matt Dillon then like Festus lol Doc said it was not bad! The scope will fix it ? Sounds bad to me So as of now I'm on workman comp for a while Before you ask how? I did it last month when we had all the ice getting out of a dump truck I was working on slipped and left knee landed wrong so I tore it up.first doctor miss diagnose stating I had a sprang muscles not listening to what I was saying about my knee hurting went back in for third chk up and diffrent doctor stated my knee was swollen ? really duh bout time so I had the MRI done finally and found my problem Lucky for me I will be having a sports doctor in OKC doing the scope Edited March 17, 2014 by buddy

Barrycuda Posted March 17, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 17, 2014 Buddy, Sorry to hear about your knees. Scopes are not bad at all. Today, scopes are usually an out patient procedure. I would make sure you get a script for physical therapy. Do not over do on your personal time. One thing to remember is to not apply shearing forces. Meaning, never place your knees PAST your toes/foot when you lunge, squat or bend. Keep me posted.

djh3 Posted March 18, 2014 Share #7 Posted March 18, 2014 Kind of know what your dealing with. I reinjured my back I had surgery on 5 years ago. I was bound and determined I wasn't going to just "work through it" this time. Working with the VA is slow and I think work is getting a bit ticked. To bad, its my back and I have to live with it long after I don't work there anymore. Knees are bad to injure. I hurt my right knee many years ago in the service. Still aint right, but at that time I had seen some of the work the AF Dr did and I decided I could still walk so I was good to go. Take care of it and don't over do. buddy Posted March 18, 2014 Author Share #11 Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) What is it like being out and waking up later? You feel anything while your out? Edited March 18, 2014 by buddy
djh3 Posted March 18, 2014 Share #12 Posted March 18, 2014 I haven't so far on the couple of surgery's I've had. Soreness settles in later but usually they give you some decent chemicals. However read the side effects on some of them. I don't meant the funny feeling and pink elephant kind of stuff. Whatever they gave me last time had me bound up in 3 days and really didn't feel like they were dulling the pain much anyways.

b2dad Posted March 20, 2014 Share #15 Posted March 20, 2014 Sure hate to hear your troubles with the knees. Don has had both of his done...but it was a very long time ago. Thank goodness he had a very good doctor. Wishing you the best of luck. Please keep us posted. I don't imagine Peg will do too much to you while you are out. Just a few lines with the "sharpie" or Magic Marker ought to be enough! LOL Patti
