russellvh Posted March 11, 2014 #1 Posted March 11, 2014 I am a shorty and ride a 2006 RSTD. I would like for the handlebars to be closer but I really don't want to change the bars out. I was thinking about risers. How well do they work? How do I know what size to get so I won't have to change out the cables? How hard are they to install with the enclosed handlebars on the RSTD?
TDbiker Posted March 11, 2014 #2 Posted March 11, 2014 Risers are difficult if not impossible to install on these RSTD's because of the speedometer unit. Most end up swapping the handle bars for ones made by Flanders. I don't recall the part number but a search here will find it. Good luck.
jakester Posted March 11, 2014 #3 Posted March 11, 2014 I believe the flanders part # is 650-08783 Bill:080402gudl_prv:
Primebeef Posted March 13, 2014 #4 Posted March 13, 2014 Here you go....check out this link and when you go to do the change out, follow these instructions. I did the change out and am very happy. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37770&highlight=flanders
Phoneman1981 Posted March 14, 2014 #5 Posted March 14, 2014 Many of us have replaced our bars with Flanders bars.
