That is a nice pair, the 1st gen looks so classy painted like that. -Andrew I spend a little time looking at those two. Then a little time looking at the other 5 and usually end up riding the Maxim unless it's gonna be a long trip or one of my kids wants to go along. I believe in the "Don't hide 'em. Ride 'em" slogan.

She loves the MM, but don't like and won't ride the Royale. The '88 Royale shoulda been a 2007 FJR1300, but we spent too much redoing the kitchen.

StarFan Posted March 8, 2014 #33 Posted March 8, 2014 THAT RSTD is GORGEOUS!!! I could ride that puppy till wheels fell off - BEAUTIFUL!! Hei Cowpuc. It is actually a 1998 Tour Classic II. It has a upgraded motor with v-max cams and bigger carbs, Dyna ignition module, v-max drive and so forth. Bigger brake master cylinder, upgraded clutch and the list goes on and on. Extremely powerful and fun to ride - lets not talk about gas mileage Also added the Venture trunk and had it painted to match the bikes colour. Future add ons are hard saddlebags and more chrome,,,,a lots of chrome,,,,I love CHROME ! The Red Mistress (a former Millenium bike) I bought from an insurance company with some cosmetic damages and went for the Red colour. Sold it instantly after rebuild. Bought another one (pictured here below) that I am currently customizing a little and it is also RED - I love these RED bikes.

Actually I would LOVE to be sitting on its seat when it did I have never owned one (all my V-4 Yams have been 1st Gens) but have read that the 1st generation of the classic tours (I hope I am stating that right) were detuned with smaller carbs,, like 28mm or something?? If this is the case, were you able to use the stock heads with the bigger carbs (was the porting big enough)? And were the stock valves and springs ok with the different cams? Does the Dyna module allow you to rev it out like a V-Max? Using stock pistons (compression ratio)? Yes, they were detuned with smaller carbs, the 28mm Mikuni and also they do not have a counterbalancer. I installed the 32mm carb from the Venture - there is not space for a bigger one unless you have one custom made. 2. Yes, the stock heads are used - This is almost a bolt on project with some simple and minor customizing to do. 3. The valves are fine but you have to put in stiffer springs. 4. No, not quite all the way - Don´t want them valves to float. I have mine adjusted at 7.000 rpm but am told that 7.500 is O.K. but I am fine with 7.000. Don´t need no more RPM´s. Have not ridden the bike much since I live in Iceland and I keep the bike at Big Toms place in NY state. Try to come over every year to do some riding and am coming to Toms Rally in August. I instantly noticed things you've done to it that I really like, for instance, what ever it is your using for forward pegs look like my kind of stuff - perfect for long legs!! I noticed something that appears different on the rearward part of your fairing,, in the pics it looks like a chromish color rod sticking up,,, what the heck is that,, could be me seeing things.. Hahaha! On the Baker wings I have a strip of chrome strip on outside edge. And I'm big on putting 1/8" adhesive chrome strip on sides of bike and bags. Getting attention is the I feel to keeping them aware of me out there while I ride. thankyou for compliments.

And the pegs are Kuriakyn Long horn hwy pegs, very nice .
