Luggage Rack Mounting

I have not seen this posted and have done several on bikes I owned and other peoples bikes I figured sense I was doing a trunk. I would post pics of this simple way to mount a trunk luggage rack.

 

1) cut 2 strips from a piece of cardboard. (from a box approx 1/8 to 3/16 thick)

2) lay them on the trunk and mask tape them down.

3) place luggage rack on both strips on trunk and get it centered.

4) press very hard on all corners not moving luggage rack (if you make a error just replace cardboard).

5) mark center of indentations with a felt marker.

6) drill pilot hole.

7) drill to desired hole diameter and clean residue from holes and clean trunk.

8) mount luggage rack and your done.

 

Hope this helps those of you that want to put a rack on your trunk but was leery about doing it....Ron
