Dan, why do you call me elusive ?

I thought i'm pretty much straight forward Kind of Guy, answer any Question to the best of my Knowledge, may they be challenging or as happened lately, i think he should know this by himself. Sometimes i'm on the wrong Path or i do not find the right Words, but that's normal. At least for me.

I don't care, better to waste Hours of typing technical Info in foreign Language than let somebody down. On non-technical Issue, i may have a different Mind than most of you, but that's human.

For Heaven's sake NO, i wasn't there and i don't intend to do so. Too warm for me. I prefer a bit colder Areas. Visit Iceland again is on the Plans for the next Years.

I can't figure the Upside down Situation out on my own, that's why i asked you. You seem pretty much familiar with the Situation in the southern half the Planet, so ... i'm waiting ....

SQUEEZE!!! That's what I like about you... Your dry..tongue in cheek...technical type humor... I think?? ..:rotfl: And the need to get in the last inquisitive word.. I'm not like that at all. :rotfl::rotf::rotfl::rotf::rotfl::rotf::rotfl::rotf:

Only because you're on the other side of the world, chances are we may never meet and share beers. Or DQ for that matter. I really appreciate the info that you post, as I sure everyone does. And, I have noticed a definate improvement in your English language skills, not to mention your humorous tendancies. In other words, it's great to get to know you better!!

Dan

Thanks for your Comment Dan. Well, chances that will ever meet and have a Beer or three are better than 50 Percent. I still want to visit the U.S. together with my Wife and look at famous Scenery, meet as most of the Members here, at best at a Meeting as Vogel or Kitchener this Year. I want to ride the Dragon, visit J.F. Kennedy Space Center, visit Yosemite Park, see the Sequoias, see a Game of one of my favourite Football Teams, and after the Reunion of IRL and Champ Car Series visit Carburetor Days of Indy 500, Niagara Falls and several a Lot other Things on a huge List.

But there are two things which stand in our Way .... Time and Money.

Time is the utmost limiting Factor. At today's Exchange Rates the Money-Issue stands back a bit. But i can't leave my Boys and my Company alone for more than 3 Weeks at the State of their current Skills and Knowledge. So, i have to improve them in first Place.

You might have noticed, the Places i listed are all over the US, so 3 Weeks would be more a Race than a Vacancy. Next, how to bring early May(Indy500 getup) and NFL together ?

Jack, you started picking on me and expect me to let it go ??

I'm not like that at all. :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

And it was just getting to be interesting!!!

see a Game of one of my favourite Football Teams,

You ain't a Cowgirl fan are you??

Nope ...

49ers

Steelers

Bucs

I'm no 'Fan' anymore, we have a very poor Coverage on NFL for the last two Years. Just Pay TV and not my PayTV Channels i have.

Also i somehow got lost since the free Agents became a Problem for the Teams. Since they sell to the highest Bidder, there is a Lot of Football Spirit lost. I 'grew up' with Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, later then Slash and the Bus, you might know them all ... i like the Game, the Skills and the physicals of the Players and the Sideline Teams, but for me, it seems that some of "Sport" has been lost.

I did want to visit one or two Games a Year here in Germany, NFL Europe as they call it, but it hasent't happened since Years. This League is pretty much like extended Farm Teams. Good Games, lots of Fun and a good Tailgate Party, for german Dimensions of Course.

Years ago, during the Sturgis Bike Rally, my group of riding buddies 'adopted' a man from Germany, he told us to call him 'RRRicky'...and that we would have trouble with his real name. We had met him on the road, and invited him to camp with us.

Ok, anyway, he had flown over to the states, rented a Harley in Denver, and was riding the USA for 3 weeks. He made sure to see the rally, and wanted to get a tattoo of Mt. Rushmore on his rather large bicep. We used his camera and took pictures of him down on Main Street, with all the bikes and the babes, and even got a pic of him sitting on a replica of Captain America, the bike seen in the classic movie, Easy Riders. He told us that those pictures would be like gold to his riding buddies back home. Cool.

What a character this guy was...he could slam down the whiskey! At the campground each evening, he would down a fifth by himself, he drank it like Koolaid. But, he did get VERY wasted.

One night, he polished off most of a bottle, and staggering thru the campground, he kept stumbling this way and that, barely concious even while standing. He staggered around carrying the mostly empty bottle of Jack Daniels, until he bumped into a tree, and it bounced him right on top of his tent!

We ran over, expecting to see this huge bear-like man impaled on one of the tent poles, but when we got there, and peeled back the layers of tangled nylon, he was laying on his back, still pouring the remaining whiskey into his upturned mouth, laughing in that big ol sasquatch laugh of his.

Damn it was funny...I guess you hadda be there.

Yep..I think Squeeze should make it a point to visit sometime...those guys KNOW how to party!

I got a BIG Smile on my Face .... :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:

Could very very well have been me in my younger Days, well, except for the Harley ...

Sure we know how to Party, we have good Beer here, a Lot of other fine adult Beverages, nice Girls and it is all about Fun.

I really would like to set my Foot on US Soil, even better if my Max would be with me, if i would come alone, but as is said before ... now is just not the Time to make it happen. We will see :whistling::whistling::whistling:

Squeeze, being a good representative of Indianapolis, (live 25 miles from the track), a huge open-wheel fan (both IRL and F1), I hereby extend the invite for ANYTIME you come to the states, stop here in Indy, stay out at my place and go out and see the track. Even if it's not in the month of May (and hopefully Paul Tracy isn't crying, I mean racing), there's a great museum and most of the race teams are located here. We also have a huge group of NHRA top fuel and funny car teams based here, most of which operate in their shops year round. Most all teams will allow you to glance at their operations while you're here.

I would trade this time with you for a chance to go to Hockenheim (spelling?) or the Neurburgring (again?) and witness the races at those tracks. I get up early in the morning on Sundays to watch those races live!

When you come over, I think you should hook-up with Wild Hair and tour the country with him! Our own Ambassador could give you a tour of the country. Just think, he knows ALL the members that drink good beer!

The invite to stay here is good forever, so let us know! I'm sure we could come up with a bike for 'ya!

Hey Dan, i really feel honored to be invited to stay at your Place.

I told my Wife about this Thread in the opening Stages when Condor started his little Discussion inbetween and we got a good Laugh out of it. Now, she was very touched by your Invitation and we really appreciate it. Next Thing she said was, i sure have to improve my Language a Lot before we go for the Boarding Cards ... :rotf::rotf:

Again thanks for the Invitation and this even makes it a Kind of Obligation to work harder to allow us to make our Dream come true.

In a Sort of Retaliation, i invite you to our House.

We live 65 mls away from Hockenheim and 200 mls from Nuerburgring. I know these Tracks well, but i prefer Nuerburgring, because the Track is more interesting even when they do not drive the old Track anymore for F1 or other normal Races. The old Track, as you might know called 'the green Hell', is open to public on several Days during the Week. This old Track is somewhere 8 Miles of Cork Screw with 2 Miles straight on the End of the Lap. There are some 5 Races each Year on the Nordschleife, 24h Touring Cars and Endurance Races, even with Vipers and Nissan Skyline GTR and of Course a Lot of Porsches.

If you ever come over the Pond, you can stay here as long as you want and we can visit a Lot of Places where both old and new Automobile History is made. Here's the Home of Daimler and Porsche within 10 Miles, Audi's Cradle is on the half Way to Hockenheim. Not to mention the old Castles and Chateau's we have left over from 15th Century onwards. Churches, Museum whatever you like to see of Old Europe, we have it.

I'm 110 Percent sure my Boss would give me some Days of Leave for such a Cause. :):):)

I could introduce you several Sorts of Beer and other Bereages.:) I'm proud to say that my Wife is a real good Cook, so the bare human Needs would not suffer from any Shortage ... :cool10::cool10::cool10::cool10::cool10:

So, give it a Thought...

Squeeze, most definately on my wish list of things to do. We're in the same situation, got 3 years till the boy graduates from High School, bunches of other things. But at least we know we have a plan!! Doesn't matter if you make it here first, or us there, the invites always open! It sets my heart to boil when I think of you only being 200 miles from the "RIng". I can remember watching tape-delayed races from there in the 60's where they went through the old course. And there's all the old movies, too. Well, back to work tomake and save some money for the trip!!

Thanks for the kind words,

Dan

Wow Brad, from the pics, looks like this is a spare motor project. That one piston sure needs cleaned up. I assume that's why the caps are off the cams in pic 1. Looks like a load of fun and I really would like to do that someday. Let us know how it goes!

Dan

I'll tell ya how it went, Dan...he tried it twice, couldn't get it right, so he put it back together, sold it to some sucker for thousands, then he bought a newer, slower motorcycle to fit his true image, and now he just laughs at his buddies who continue to practice the fine are of wrenching that he got sick of doing.

Yeah, I'll just continue to keep getting my wrenches dirty, fix her up good, not worrying if something new or unknown is gonna come up, cause you know, MY bikes been there, done that, came back, and will live to see PLENTY more days of sunshine and asphalt! I think these 2nd genners are just coming into their "problems", as is noticed on the board lately. Wish the best of luck to them, as I pass them on the road with my soon-to-be-born "RED ROCKET"!!!:whistling::whistling::whistling::stirthepot:

Now, if memory serves me correctly, and correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a certain second gen hold up the ride for a first gen one day because of some mecahanical problem??????? At least the first genner got to eat a good supper, although it was chatterbox all the way home.

Your Memory is getting worse every year. The ride was not held up and Swifty made it on time.

With a slight technical difficulty with my key thingy, and a Harley repair the 2nd gen did make the ride just a little later than the rest of you.
