I know the S model came with chrome forks, but mine is not an S model. Has anyone taken their forks off and sent them out to be chromed? I'm thinking about taking my forks off, and getting them chromed. Any opinions on this? Good or bad, pros and cons. I have a 2009 RSV.

I remember someone taking off the forks and polishing them. It looked pretty shiny to me. You might not need the chrome plate. You still have to do the polishing even if you do go with the chrome.

You might run into an issue on the inner bore of the tube. This is a rather close machined surface for the slide bearings. The chrome thickness might make the bore a little tight.

I chromed out my front end when I lowered it. Speed City Cycle did the chroming and replaced my springs and valve emulators. Here's the link to their chrome pricing:

And a picture of the bike showing the chrome work and my front wheel polished out

Im the putz who polished his forks and let me tell you, it was a job if your going to do it to professional standards. I would have the legs chromed if there was ever a next time for me, labor wise. Space coast plating over in Melborne does nice work. The chromed a former members parts for him, including his forks. Just have to plug the innards first.
