Well My Basket is at EFM for the MOD now.

I also sent him all new steal plates and all new Barnett Carbon Fiber Disks

I had laying around and never installed yet.

Will post pic's and stuff later. this will be nice not

having to pull the clutch lever in at all. you can if

you want to. its about a 1/4 pull if you use it.

He is making it a bit different do to the weight of the Trike.

(adding more weight to something)

Will post pics of both baskets side by side when it arrives.

If this (groundhog day effect) will ever go away I will post

what I feel about this option. so much snow and ice for so long.

I also talked with Hannigan and they now make a parking brake

for the RSV Trike. OH MY !!! so many add-ons .

EFM is right down the road from me. (On my way to work) We put one on a Roadstar, We didn't like it and took it off. The shims he has though, that come with the EFM worked on the Burnett and we got total lock up so, it wasn't a total loss.

Had it on for a few days, did not like the mannerisms of it. I guess if you had to you can get used to it. It just does not engage and disengage as one would like. I think we determined in our case it did not work like he said it would nor how the video shows. The part about the choice of using the clutch or not, we found to be not true. At least on our install. We could not sit at a light and Rev the engine without leaping into the intersection. At highway speeds it got real tricky backing out of it.

It's a little tricky to set up, we had the case off about ooooooo 8 times making adjustments with adding shims and stuff. It's trial and error. You could get lucky and get it right first time. I hope!

His shop has some of the neatest machinery, Thats for sure! It Is a cool clutch especially for someone who had a clutch hand limitation . My determination was it's best left for a trike. It would be ideal for a trike!

MOD is DONE... will be shipped out tomorrow...

( 1 day turn around )

Garry did a bunch of stuff even added extra holes for

more oil flow.... the other thing he mentioned is that

I remove the fluid from my clutch master cyl... and

a few other things I will get into later. this outta be

interesting . He ahs it set up pretty good for the Trike

he says. there are 34 steel balls in the plate and 6 titanium's

balls for the Trike Wight.

Will keep you posted , but should be able to test it in the garage I hope

be another month before I can ride tho. if I am lucky.

Well, I was hoping, The guy is a genius, he has an incredible shop and going into a trike you made a great choice. Once you get it dialed in and get used to its manners you should be fine. I just don't advise it on two wheels. Unless for some reason you NEED it, like left hand don't work or whatever.

Let us know. Study up on the directions they are good, but do just as they say. Most time he will answer the phone. But he's not in a lot.

Pictures soon!

Yeah, Mike, It might be nice not to pull in the

clutch lever while in a turn on a trike for a change :-)

there IS tweaking to do for sure.

Just hoping this will work out !!

Soon Jay !!!

Saving these pics to show folks later what things are about

if they need help.. so Far I just have to make one more adjustment

and I am loving it so far. really kicks in great.

My set-up is for Trikes ONLY..

There are 6 Titanium Balls in this set-up for the weight of the Trike.

When you hold the 2 different kinds you really can feel the weight differences.

2 wheelers will be just a little different.

More testing tomorrow after a adjustment. not sure if I have

to take the cover off yet.. I did do as a member told me to do

is to just oil around the gasket and it stays sealed just fine , this

way I can remove the cover and not ruin the gasket. seem so far

that there are no leaks. :-)

Another report to follow SOON.

OH I also had Garry make me another stronger cover plate that

the, 12 bolts on into. from .50 to .100 thickness.

After talking a bit more with Garry,

I was not shifting in the right manner for the auto

clutch, you must let off the throttle just a tad then shift

for no slip. so the set-up was perfect from the get go.

The first time I road with it I was letting the RPMs drop as if you

used the clutch lever. (that will cause the slip)

I road more today and I absolutely love it.:D

So if anyone want to go this route for there trike it will

take a few miles to learn it. kind of like going from 2 wheels

to 3 wheels. I just wish It the roads and weather would get better

soon so I can really work this clutch harder.

I think the hardest part is not wanting to pull the clutch lever in all the time :)

I do think that it is a good thing for a Trike . Not sure for the 2 wheelers tho.

If you decide to go this route feel free to call me or email me in the future.

Now to add the Parking Brake.

Only did a 30 mile ride just a while ago.

To test the new tires and get the Ride-On stirred up.

Tomorrow I will go for a longer ride I hope.

But so far the EFM auto Clutch works perfectly on my Trike.

I really enjoy it. so crazy not using the clutch lever..

more to follow!

YES, I like it, still learning the down shifting part .

I think I almost have that figured out.

Garry the owner will make anything right but he is the

type of person that thinks that we should know what he

is talking about, his instructions are not to bad

but no pictures at all.

If you should decide to do this call me when your ready

and we can go over a few things.

Seems to work really well tho. still deciding if I want

to put my OEM clutch disk back in to see how they work.

I had some brand new Barnett Carbon Fiber disks laying

around so I tossed them in there. I did learn if you don't

use anything on the gasket for the cover you can removed

it several times :-) I do not have any leaks.

So for now I am keeping the set-up this way, only have about 200

miles on the EFM now, I just need to get more riding time in.

I have no future plans on going back to the stock clutch at this time.

As far as the parking brake its still in the (works).

Hannigan had a problem with the vendor that supplied

some of the machined parts and they said they do not

want to do the parts for them anymore. Soooo Hannigan

is having another company re-tool for the parts they need.

This HAS to be done as in Canada it is a law to have a parking brake

on there Trikes.

So I am thinking about another month for the parking brake.

For now I am using a looped Velcro on the front brake OR I just

use a little portable wheel chalk I have in the trunk. or park with

nose in against something LOL

Did another 100 miles yesterday ,first time with two up ,

EFM did real well. I have the down shifting down

pretty much now. seems to do really well no matter

what you throw at it. IE: like extra weight.

I like what you have posted. I posted to your original post that the EFM may help. I don't have the EFM but a buddy does, on a two wheeler Venture, and he loves it.

Now I am looking at a trike, so I will give EFM a call when I decide which kit I will buy.
